Melinda Bam

Melinda, 22, from Pretoria, is studying towards a BCom in marketing at the University of Pretoria. She is hard-working, well-mannered and friendly. Melinda believes she has the motivation, ambition and confidence to become an inspiring ambassador for South Africa and the youth. She has won several pageants.

Lwandle Ngwenya

Lwandle is 21 and from Glenwood, Durban. She won Miss Durban in 2009 and holds the title for Miss Spring 2010. She speaks English, Siswati and isiZulu and is confident and relaxed in front of the camera. Lwandle believes she has the passion and spirit to win the contest. She is 1.77m tall.

Thuli Sangweni

Thuli is 21 and lives in Joburg. She has experience in modelling and is studying for a marketing degree. Thuli is 1.8m tall, slim and active and would like to use the Miss South Africa pageant as an opportunity to encourage other young women in the country to strive for greatness.

Remona Moodley

Remona, 22, held the title of First Princess for the Miss SA Teen in 2006 and was crowned Miss India South Africa in 2005. She lives in Cape Town, where she is studying electrical engineering at UCT. She would like to obtain a pilot’s licence. She enjoys reading, belly dancing and spending time helping others.

Frieda du Plessis

Frieda, 25, is a Pretoria teacher. She holds the title of Miss Rekord 2010 and was recently First Princess for Miss Modern Woman 2011. Blonde and blue-eyed, Frieda enjoys giving of herself. She would like to further enrich the lives of others and wants to grow and learn from her Miss South Africa experience.

Sian Schlebusch

Sian, 21, would like to complete her studies in marketing management and create collaborative networks to help develop opportunities for others. She also aspires to be a spokeswoman for under-resourced and challenged communities. Sian lives in Joburg and models for an agency in the city. She has won a number of pageants.

Dannalize Clarke

Dannalize, 25, is a New Year’s baby. She models full-time in Cape Town. She has a BCom in business management and a BCom honours in financial management. Dannalize would like to be a role model and ambassador for the youth of South Africa, and hopes to use the contest as a springboard.

Lerato Mokoena

Lerato, 22, is from Vereeniging. She speaks English, Afrikaans and seSotho and has completed a BA in tourism development at the University of Johannesburg. She has done well in several pageants. She would like to establish an NGO that reaches underprivileged communities in rural South Africa, especially the youth.

Caylene Marais

Caylene, 21, lives in Roodepoort. She has a passion for people, and it shows in her choice of study: life and performance coaching. Caylene is Miss Valley of the Waves and Miss Western Gauteng. She is a sporty, capable young woman with provincial colours for judo, and she played first team water-polo at high school. She enjoys teaching children horseriding.

Charlotte Smith

Charlotte, 23, has a BA in communication science and owns a model agency, based in Kempton Park. Charlotte holds the title of Miss Million Dollar 2010 and has been crowned title holder of pageants such as Miss Valley of the Waves 2009, Miss Sky Nations 2006 and Miss Teen World 2005. Standing at 1.77m tall, this towering beauty is set for success.

Karlien Gericke

Karlien, 22, has a sunny disposition which can lighten any room. She has a BCom in entrepreneurship, and wouldn’t have missed the opportunity to be a part of Miss South Africa 2011 for anything. She lives in Sandton. She loves Sandra Bullock and enjoys the lighter side of life. Her favourite movies are comedies and her favourite book is Spud.

Rolene Strauss

Rolene hails from Mpumalanga. She is in her first year of studying medicine and believes she has the characteristics to become an ambassador for South Africa. She is a model for an agency and also holds the title of Miss Diaz 2010/2011. She is looking forward to participating in the Miss South Africa pageant and is excited to share the experience with the other finalists.

Tamerin Jardine

Tamerin, 23, lives in Sandton. She made it to the semi-finalist stage of the Miss South Africa pageant in 2009. She has already earned a BA in law and is continuing her studies in Joburg. Tamerin is passionate about the Earth and greening the environment.

Grace Rheeders

Grace, 21, is from Durban and is 1.68m tall. She is a lifestyle manager and PRO for a major financial organisation. She is in her final year of studying business management. Grace was a finalist in the Miss Italia pageant in 2008 and has a striking beauty inherited from her Continental/ European roots. She would like to become a positive and inspiring role-model for others.

Cindy Rosslind

Cindy, 21, is 1.72m tall. She is slender, full of life and has dark, silky hair and round, brown eyes. She is a student and lives in Cape Town. This vibrant woman would like the opportunity to realise her potential and be given a platform to be a positive influence in South Africa.

Pinky Mathope

Pinky, 21, is an optimistic and smart young lady who is studying at the Vaal University of Technology to be a metallurgical engineer. She models and works in Joburg, and was Miss SA Campus 2010. Pinky is slim, gorgeous, and believes her vivacious personality and passion for life will set her aside from the rest.
