In the face of much tut-tutting and shaking of heads a Sydney brothel has received approval for a multimillion-dollar expansion.

Last year the city council tried to block the project by saying it was too big, but has been overruled by a commissioner of the Land and Environment Court. Objections on moral grounds which were raised by some of the public submissions did not count, she said, because sex premises were legal.

Consequently, the brothel will soon have 40 rooms, some with multiple beds and pool tables presumably for clients awaiting their turn.

The business, which is set to become biggest sex premises locally, is open 24 hours a day the year round except Christmas Day.
