Grammy award-winning and internationally acclaimed house DJ Black Coffee is overflowing with gratitude after being honoured at the SA Music Awards (SAMA28) with an international achievement award.
The renowned DJ was granted the coveted award in recognition of his international music career and setting a gold standard of excellence.
Black Coffee, who could not be present to accept his award, shared a video thanking everyone who was part of his success.
Taking to his social media accounts, he expressed what being bestowed with such an award meant to him.
“For many years I have watched South African great artists travel the world (and) sell out shows. The late mama Busi Mhlongo, Madala Kunene, the late Bheki Mseleku. To be a recipient of this prestigious achievement award is such a big deal for me. Growing up eMlazi naseMtata as a kid, this is such a big dream. But at the same time, it was so far-fetched, or at least I thought. So I want to say this to everyone who is watching, anything is possible,” shared Black Coffee
He further thanked his team and his family, highlighting that the award was dedicated to his mother, who holds the fort while he is away.
The music talent recently had South Africans brimming with pride after receiving a Grammy award earlier this year.
Maphumulo won big at the Grammy Awards in the best dance/electronic album category for his album “Subconsciously”.
The “Your Eyes” hitmaker also caused a stir after being announced as one of the forces behind Drake’s recent offering, “Honestly Never Mind”, which also features his son Esona.
