Drama features new, familiar faces

Mzansi Magic is introducing a new star-studded show Isifiso, which boasts some of SA’s popular actors who are widely known for their on-screen presence.

Isifiso is set to premiere on July 4, and will explore the theme of sibling rivalry gone wrong giving Monday nights a thrilling small screen experience.

It is about a woman living under her younger sister’s shadow, envying her seemingly-perfect life – but not all is what it seems as she eventually and tragically learns.

The 13-part drama series has been produced by Match Point Productions.

The drama’s lead cast includes Nelisa Mchunu who has made stellar appearances in Isibaya and Isithembiso, Melusi Yeni (The Wild); Ntando Mncube (The Wife) and Zinhle Mabena (Isibaya).

Its supporting cast includes both familiar and fresh faces, such as Duduzile Ngcobo, Bandile Maphalala, award-winning musician Sjava and Nkosinathi Kheswa.

Director of Local Entertainment Channels at Manet, Shirley Adonisi, expressed delight at the upcoming show.

“Monday nights on Mzansi Magic are known and loved for bringing thrilling dramas that keep viewers intrigued, week after week.

“ We’re glad to keep this slot dynamic and of a high standard, and Isifiso is the latest show that we trust will resonate with our viewers. It’s fantastic that DStv Compact subscribers will get in on the action from the get-go,” she said

She continued that they are showcasing new talent while also using the existing best known media personalities.
