Kagiso Ronny Maboa, a Home Affairs official is sought by the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks) Middelburg based Serious Corruption Investigation team for fraud, corruption and contravention of the immigration Act.
Maboa 35, is sought following an investigation which started in April 2022 whereby he allegedly colluded with a Pakistani mastermind to facilitate that foreign nationals obtaining South African passports fraudulently.
“This was made possible by using South African citizens' identity details when processing the applications. A warrant for his arrest has been issued hence he is sought,” said Hawks Mpumalanga spokesperson Captain Dineo Lucy Sekgotodi.

Sekgotodi urged members of the public to assist in locating Maboa by contacting the investigation officer, Captain Sam kolobe on 0714813126 or by sending a tip off via MySAPSApp.
Sekgotodi said all information received will be treated with the strictest confidentiality.
This crime has left some South Africans angry at Home Affairs Department officials who work with criminals saying that they are taking the country backwards.
“The challenge has never been foreigners but our own officials from home affairs and police straight,@ said Sibusiso Sibeko.
