Johannesburg - Multi-award winning artist J’Something has confirmed that the Durban leg of his tour has been moved to a bigger venue following the success of his Cape Town tour.

The exclusive “Indoor with J’Something” experience kicked off in the mother city last month at the HCC Homecoming Centre.

This first-of-its-kind tour featured J’Something alongside his three-piece band performing a full-length show.

On announcement of tickets sales opening, the Durban tour sold out in just over 24 hours.

The “Mamela” hitmaker and his team made the call to move to a bigger venue giving more fans the opportunity to experience the show.

With that decision came a date shift to November.

“‘Indoor’ is very close to my heart so I am truly overwhelmed by the support South Africa at large has given me thus far. We simply wanted to share the music with the world and really didn’t expect such incredible support. Following tons of queries and pleas from supporters across KZN to do an additional show, moving to a bigger venue just made the most sense,” said J’Something.

Indoor is an offering that charts his life, giving a full picture of what was happening during lockdown, a time which made things quite challenging for a lot of people.

Drawing inspiration from some of the greats who have inspired and shaped him over the years, the project is a creative and emotional expression and interpretation of what he hears when listening to the iconic songs featured in the project.

For someone who had grew fond of live performances, J’Something revealed that he turned to music to let off steam and remain sane in lockdown.

Speaking about the project he said, “I started working on this project at the very beginning of lockdown. After years of touring, performing, and sharing music with people, to being told that entertainment was the least essential craft. As a professional, a talented, hard-working artist who had put their whole life into their craft, this was the most hurtful thing to be told.

“That is why ‘Indoor’ is very close to my heart, it kept my fire burning through the lockdown, gave me direction and purpose in my craft. And now that it’s finally ready,  I can’t wait to share it with the world.”

“Indoor” is produced and directed by J’Something alongside the talented Sergio Botelho and Jazzworx team and made possible with the support of sponsors Vodacom Red and Stella Artois.
