Johannesburg - Popular Canadian singer Justin Bieber has announced the cancellation of his highly anticipated Justice World Tour to focus on resting and getting better.

Bieber took to his Instagram to reveal this shocking news to his music fans while also offering them a nod of appreciation for their support.

The “Baby” hitmaker performed in Brazil after resuming his world tour on July 31, where he says he felt exhausted and needed to prioritise his health.

Bieber was due to grace South African shores on September 28 and October 1 for his eagerly awaited performance in Cape Town and Johannesburg.

Taking to Instagram he wrote, “Earlier this year, I went public about my battle with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, where my face was partly paralysed. As the result of this illness, I was not able to complete the North America leg of the Justice Tour. After resting and consulting with my doctors, family and team, I went to Europe in an effort to continue with the tour. I performed six live shows, but it took a real toll on me. This past weekend I performed at Rock in Rio and I gave everything I have to the people in Brazil. After getting off the stage, the exhaustion overtook me and I realise that I need to make my health the priority right now. So I'm going to take a break from touring for the time being. I'm going to be okay, but I need time to rest and get better.”

In June, the pop star revealed that he worries about struggling to eat due to Ramsay Hunt syndrome.

This happened just days after being compelled to cancel dates on his Justice World Tour and had requested his fans to pray for him.

The star has been keeping his fans updated about his health.

In a video he shared months ago he said: “Obviously, as you can probably see with my face, I have this syndrome called Ramsay Hunt syndrome and it is from this virus that attacks the nerves in my ear and my facial nerves and has caused my face to have paralysis.”
