It has been nearly two decades since the Blacks Only festival was pioneered and it continues to showcase new and talented comedians in doing what they are passionate about.

This much-anticipated comedy special makes a return with a three-day extravaganza running from tonight until Sunday.

It will be performed at the Centre Court at Emperors Palace for two nights of comedy and a Super Sunday Chill Out at the Red Shed at Emperors Palace this weekend.

One of the biggest comedy shows in the country, it attracts massive crowds.

People can look forward to being hosted by the highly acclaimed, long-standing comedian David Kau. It is presented by Kaya 959.

The Star had a chat with Kau to find out more about what the extravaganza is all about.

“It is about the careers that have come out of it. Comedians who were completely unknown have come out of this show. And as a result, they have become some of the most popular comedians making their tours and one-man shows. The talent that has come out of it has been going on for 18 years,“ he shared.

He said he was pleased that they are back although some shows had to be cancelled because of Covid-19.

Kau said Blacks Only comedy has always been about giving black comedians a platform.

“It is about giving black comedians a platform to express themselves in any language that they want.“
