Johannesburg - Renowned music artist L'vovo Derrango, whose real name is Thokozani Ndlovu, has fallen victim to a death hoax after false news was spread across social media claiming that he had died.

This happened a few hours after Big Nuz member Mandla "Mampitsha" Maphumulo was confirmed to have died after suffering from a stroke.

While the entertainment industry was still coming to terms with the untimely death of Maphumulo, Derrango Records revealed that Ndlovu was hospitalised.

Derrango Records confirmed that he was admitted to hospital after suffering a minor stroke.

"This is a public notification to media, event promoters, fans, and all relevant stakeholders by Derrango Records on behalf of the multi-award-winning artist by the name of Thomozani Sphamandla Ndlovu, also known as L'vovo Derrango. L'vovo Derrango had suffered a minor stroke during his performance at Indwedwe on the 23 of December 2022. He is admitted to the hospital for medical attention and he is responding very well," it said.

Derrago Records later dispelled the false rumours, claiming that Lvovo Derrango is well and alive.

"This is a follow-up public notification to media, event promoters, fans, and all relevant stakeholders by Derrango Records on behalf of the multi-award-winning artist by the name of Thomozani Sphamandla Ndlovu, also known as L'vovo Derrango. You are kindly urged to desist from spreading harmful rumours. Please respect the privacy of Lvovo and that of his family," it said.

After Maphumulo’s death had been confirmed, L'vovo Derrango also left the entertainment industry concerned about his health.
