Johannesburg - The chatter around Eskom and the endless power outages that continue to rock South Africa seem like they might carry on longer, particularly with no resolutions on the surface.
With each stage announced, politicians and different organisations have responded with fury, blaming the governing party, the ANC, for the power crisis.
A few days ago, President Cyril Ramaphosa revealed that they were working on measures to resolve Eskom's challenges, however, the country remains in the dark.
"What do you call a person who wants to give him a second term?"
EFF member Fana Mokoena asks this question as he reveals a string of promises that were made by President Cyril Ramaphosa, highlighting load shedding as one of the big problems that South Africa faces.
"Ramaphosa promised to end load shedding. He failed; in fact, Eskom is getting worse. He won't fire Pravin Gordhan (Enterprises Minister and André de Ruyter (Eskom CEO) . He promised jobs. Unemployment keeps rising. He promised women protection, but GBV keeps rising. So what do you call a person who wants to give him a second term?" said Mokoena.
The DA's Helen Zille also commented on her social media platform and said, "As we sit with endless hours of load shedding, my overwhelming urge is to storm the ANC’s executive enclaves and switch taxpayer-funded generators. Anyone who will still vote is a willing accomplice in crime and deserves what they get. The rest of us deserve to be better."
DA MP John Steenhuisen also shared his thoughts on his Twitter platform.
"What a pathetic figure Pravin Gordhan has become. His attempts to 'instruct' Eskom to end stage 6 load shedding is disingenuous and dishonest. As minister, the buck stops with him, and he is now going around trying desperately to pass it."
South African Federation of Trade Unions (Satu) is one of the organisations that has called for the resignation of De Ruyter, Gordhan and Ramaphosa amid severe electricity power cuts.
ActionSA president Herman Mashaba also shared his thoughts on social media saying: "South African's wheels must be the slowest grinding in the world. They will one day qualify to be included in the Guinness (World Records). The country is experiencing stage 6 load shedding as a result of blatant looting of Eskom by known criminals with no consequences," said Mashaba.
The Young Nurses Indaba Trade Union said that De Ruyter should be sacked because of the current bout of load shedding. They said that patients were being put in danger because their equipment does not work properly during blackouts.
