It is almost surreal that Somizi Mhlongo and Mohale Motaung are no longer an item, particularly after publicly serving couple goals, not to mention the dreamy union that commanded everyone's attention with its grandeur.

The startling end of their relationship, which turned out to be acrimonious showed their fans that not all that glitters is gold.

Though their wedding was all glitz and glamour, it turns out their relationship was not as flashy as people thought it was, as more shocking revelations marred with abuse are coming to light.

Showmax has just dropped the first trailer for Somizi & Mohale: End of the Road, an unauthorised documentary premiering on August 25, 2022.

Somizi & Mohale: End of the Road is set to unpack their relationship, its public breakdown amid the leaked audio of Mohale accusing Somizi of abuse and what this meant to fans and the broader LGBTQIA+ community in South Africa.

This documentary follows on from the reality series Living The Dream With Somizi S5 and the tell-all special Mohale: On The Record, which respectively shared Somizi and Mohale’s clashing standpoints on their relationship.

Both titles topped the charts on Twitter and Showmax on their release.

“We must never forget the task God has given us,” Mohale texted Somizi on the morning of their traditional wedding.

“Our wedding is going to be a story told in a way that will shake the entire continent and help people understand that loving a person of your same sex was never and will never be wrong,” said Motaung.

Motaung recently spilt the beans about some areas of their relationship. In an interview with Aldrin Sampear, Motaung said that Somizi did bring him joy.

“I was really myself when I was with him and I could express myself in many ways. I was happy until certain things started to happen. Like the control and constantly being reminded that I bring nothing to the table except my pretty face.” he shared.
