Nana Mdlalose writes: Two weeks ago I reported my problem regarding bus No 45 at 6.05am which starts from Braamfontein going to Linmeyer up to Marist Brothers Marian College.

After Metrobus changed the driver’s schedule in April, this bus also stopped coming to Braamfontein at the scheduled time.

My child, who attends Marian College and catches this bus from Braamfontein, struggled to arrive at school on time because of this problem.

After reporting this problem through the Metrobus call centre, I was given a reference number by Esther Dreyer, who referred me to Henry Mapangane, who took my issue very seriously.

In fact, to the extent that he called me to check if this bus did arrive on Monday, January 28, which it did not.

He made a follow-up call the following day and the day after.

On February 1, Mr Mapangane called me at 5.45am to check if we were at the bus stop and if we were, he said we should wait for the bus because he was monitoring the driver and he bus should be there on time.

I can’t express how happy and impressed I am with Mr Mapangane and Metrobus’s good customer care service. I would like to send my gratitude and appreciation.

We have now met the right people in the Johannesburg Roads Agency and our relationship with them has improved tremendously.

I would like to give credit to them for replacing damaging culvert covers in the suburb.

The request was logged on Friday, January 25, and the job was done on Wednesday, January 30. This is excellent service and I would like to specifically thank three people in the JRA: Patrick Mampa, Phillip Otto and Anesta Brits.
