Fancy enjoying Christmas in July?
Thanks to The Bend Country House and Nature Estate in The Midlands in KwaZulu-Natal, travellers can now enjoy all the benefits of a white Christmas six months before the actual date.
The Bend will host their white winter Christmas party on Saturday, July 22.
The hotel manager, Dennis Ngxongo, said guests will enjoy a magical Christmas ‘with all the trimmings’ this weekend.
Ngxongo grew up with the Holgado family who owns the guest house. Since he could not make it for their winter Christmases holidays in December, they recreated a white Christmas in July.
That tradition stuck with the family even after the property turned into a guest house in 1994.
“As a youngster growing up in the Bend with the Holgado children we had many memorable winter Christmases in July. We have kept the tradition going since then, trying to incorporate all aspects of the holiday.
“This year guests can expect a traditional spread, from Christmas crackers to Gammon to Turkey with all the trimmings, in front of a roaring log fire, tons of wine and other libations. The event really brings the Christmas cheer” he said.
