FlySafair has partnered with consumer credit solutions provider, the RCS Group, in a bid to help more South Africans take to the skies.
Allowing customers up to 55 days of credit interest-free and enabling them to choose their own payment terms over 24 or 36 months, the RCS Group offers credit solutions which are more accessible to a greater number of people.
Head of Sales and Distribution at FlySafair, Kirby Gordon, said the airline is the first South African travel brand to partner with RCS.
“We believe that this is a solution which will enable markets which traditionally have been unable to afford air travel to begin flying, and we are extremely proud to be the South African carrier that pioneers this."
The airline’s drive to increase access to air travel aligns well with RCS’s philosophy of making things possible for people. Regan Adams, CEO of RCS, said: “We believe that offering this facility to our customers will greatly ease the burden associated with travel costs, be it for business or leisure. We are excited to collaborate with FlySafair on this venture in order to offer this new facility along with our existing product offering."
It’s a solution which could not come at a better time for cash-strapped consumers in a tough economic climate.
Gordon explains that though consumers are becoming increasingly aware that by booking flights early they can access the best deals, they don’t necessarily have the cash flow to pay for their ticket in advance. “People are busy saving, but as they are busy saving flight prices are going up because it’s getting close to departure. As a result, we’ve had a lot of people ask if they can provide a down payment to secure a flight,” he comments.
While FlySafair has always accommodated clients who don’t have credit cards by accepting cash payment for flights through Pick n’ Pay, through this card they will finally have the option of making an advance purchase and paying it off over time, at a good rate.
“FlySafair has always been committed to opening up air travel to a broader market of people through the reduction of flight ticket prices. Our partnership with RCS is a ground-breaking extension of that commitment,” concludes Gordon.
Consumers are easily able to apply for an RCS card on the Group’s website, where they will be directed through a simple step-by-step process.
