Welkom - Three people died when a car they were travelling on collided with a truck in Welkom, Free State police said on Monday.
Sergeant Mamello Mokhuoane said married couple Vuyo Gwado, 36, and Malerato Gwado, 33, and the as yet unidentified driver of the Toyota Cressida were killed at about 17:50 pm on Saturday. The driver of the Truck did not sustain any injuries
“The couple had visited a family friend in Extension 19 in Bronville on the said day when they rented out a vehicle (Toyota Cressida) from the unknown man to take them back home to their place of residence in Thabong," Mokhuoane said.
A case of culpable homicide was opened for further investigation.
