This year’s Lilizela Tourism Awards ceremony was held at the Sandton Convention Centre. The awards are an initiative by the National Department of Tourism, spearheaded by SA Tourism.
Established in 2013, the awards recognize and reward excellent service in the local tourism sector, ranging from backpackers to 5-star country establishments, tour operators to scenic attractions and cultural heritage sites.
The Western Cape winners of the 2017 National Lilizela Tourism Awards:
- Five-star backpacking and hostelling: Saltycrax Backpackers, Western Cape.
- Four-star backpacking and hostelling: Once in Cape Town, Western Cape.
- Four-star caravan and camping: Dibiki Holiday Resort, Western Cape.
- Five-star country house: Grand Dedale Country House, Western Cape.
- Five-star game lodge: Sanbona Wildlife Reserve - Dwyka Lodge, Western Cape.
- Four-star guest house: Avondrood Guesthouse, Western Cape.
- Five-star self-catering exclusive: Orange Grove Farm, Western Cape.
- Three-star self-catering exclusive: Big Sky Cottages, Western Cape.
- Five-star self-catering shared vacation: Marine Square Luxury Suites, Western Cape.
