Congolese artist Tresor says he "almost died" during a hijacking attempt in Johannesburg.

Recalling his ordeal on Twitter and Instagram, the 'Never Let Me Go' singer said he dropped off his sound engineer in Central Johannesburg at around 6pm on Monday night.

As he was heading home from Braamfontein a hijacker then stuck a gun in his face at a traffic light.
