Lutho Sipamla and Sisanda Magala will play for the Imperial Lions next season in what is a major coup for the central Gauteng franchise.

The Eastern Cape pair, will make the move north in the winter and their signings will boost the Lions’ bowling reserves. Sipamla is one of the brightest young quick bowling talents in the country and has already played nine times for the Proteas in the two white ball formats.

Magala was called up to the Proteas limited over squad last season, but played no part owing to concerns over his fitness.

Wesley Marshall, the hard hitting opener from Easterns will also play his cricket from out of the Wanderers next summer as will the 26 year old right arm-medium pacer Tladi Bokako, who has moved north from Western Province.

The Lions have also retained most of their young players from last season, including left-hand opener Ryan Rickelton, while 21 year old Josh Richards has also been given his first full time professional contract.
