Mirpur, Bangladesh – Former Pakistan off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq says a lack of strategy in batting against spin has contributed to slow bowling success at the World Twenty20.
Saqlain, working as a spin consultant for the West Indies team, says “batsmen don't seem to have the kind of strategy they used to have” against spinners, who are thriving in favorable conditions.
Saqlain is seen as an important member of the team management for defending champion West Indies, which has done well in the conditions to emerge as one of the top contenders.
The West Indies faces Pakistan in the last Group 2 game on Tuesday to decide the second qualifier behind unbeaten India. – Sapa-AP
