Proteas to don pink kit for third ODI against Sri Lanka

Johannesburg – The Proteas will be dressed in pink for the third ODI against Sri Lanka on Saturday February 4 at Bidvest Wanderers Stadium, with the match celebrating five years of supporting PinkDrive, South Africa’s premier breast cancer community carer.

PinkDrive is an organisation committed to improving breast cancer education and awareness. It prides itself in providing preventative screening services to women (and men) across South Africa.

Bidvest, Momentum, and Cricket South Africa (CSA) have issued an invitation to all the fans attending the third ODI to dress in pink in support of breast cancer awareness. A capacity crowd is expected to turn up at one of the most iconic annual cricketing events in the world. The commercial partners have also underpinned their unwavering commitment to breast cancer awareness through generous financial support. ·

Bidvest will donate R1 000 for every boundary scored ·

Team sponsors, Standard Bank, will donate R10 000 for every catch taken in the match · Momentum will donate R100 000 if a player punches the ball into the big inflatable Momentum “M” ·

Danie van der Bergh, head of Brand, Momentum, expressed his delight with the involvement of Momentum with tangible support of PinkDrive and in raising awareness for breast cancer.

Noelene Kotschan, chief executive officer and founder of PinkDrive, saluted the Standard Bank Proteas for being ambassadors of the cancer awareness program through their pink attire.

This will be the fifth time the Proteas play in pink, significant as they remain undefeated in pink.
