CAPE TOWN – He is definitely out of this weekend’s game and the Soweto Derby, but Kaizer Chiefs star Lebogang Manyama is determined to “bounce back” soon after his horrific car crash this week.

Manyama emerged from his wrecked BMW with a fractured elbow following an accident involving three other cars on the N1 North near the Malibongwe Interchange on Tuesday.

Kaizer Chiefs said that the 28-year-old attacking midfielder would be sidelined for up to six weeks, which immediately rules him out of Sunday’s Telkom Knockout clash against Black Leopards at FNB Stadium (3.30pm), and next Saturday’s Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates at Orlando Stadium (3.30pm).

Manyama took to Instagram following the incident and posted a picture of him appearing to play a video game with the caption: “Thank u Lord for blessing me with yet another day n May u please bless the other people that were involved in that unfortunate moment n mostly thank u for all the texts n calls #iwillbounceback in no time”

Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas was also thankful on Thursday that Manyama had survived the accident.

“It’s a pity about Lebo because he has good fitness and played an outstanding game in the Macufe Cup,” Solinas said at a PSL press conference.

“I don’t know the time he will take to recover. I only saw the picture of the car, and I say it is a miracle (that he survived), it’s unbelievable. I can say God, thank you.”
