Captain Itumeleng Khune is back in the Kaizer Chiefs starting line-up for Tuesday night’s Absa Premiership clash against Baroka FC in Polokwane.

Star goalkeeper Khune missed the past weekend’s 3-0 MTN8 victory over Free State Stars after taking leave following the car accident involving his girlfriend Sbahle Mpisane.

Khune, though, reported for duty on Monday and travelled with the team to Polokwane, and will line up in goal in place of the injured Virgil Vries for the Amakhosi tonight.

Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas also recalled veteran Siphiwe Tshabalala, who replaces the injured Joseph Molangoane in midfield.

Molangoane will require surgery after sustaining a broken leg in a challenge by Free State Stars midfielder Makhehleni Makhaula at the weekend.

Venezuelan Gustavo Paez also returns to the starting XI for Dumsani Zuma, who Chiefs said was a late withdrawal due to flu.

Coach Solinas did also say before the game that he may need to rotate his players after three matches in seven days.

On the bench, striker Ryan Moon is back as well.

The match at the Peter Mokaba Stadium will start at 7.30pm.
