Lights, camera, magic! That was the mood last night at the Coca-Cola real magic event that took place at the Munro Boutique Hotel in Houghton. The hotel lobby was draped in red, white, grey and black balloons to match the beverage’s corporate identity. Apart from matching the corporate’s identity, the setup looked cosy and intimate.

The aim of this extravagant event was to launch the beverage company’s new look and feel. Sticking to the theme of the night, which was real magic, the attendees who were all dressed for the occasion in their smart casual and trendy outfits had an opportunity to witness magic tricks performed by magician Owen Dyantyi.

While others enjoyed the magic show, some of the guests were serenaded in song by Langa Mavuso with his killer performances before making way for amapiano star Kamo Mphela.

Spotted at the event were socialites Lasizwe Dambuza, Mihlale Ndamase and actress Ntando Duma along with legendary sports show host Robert Marawa, who shared their fondest memories that they had while sipping on the beverage.

“Every memory with Coca-Cola is fond. It’s something that we have been familiar with since childhood. So I would just say having a cold glass of coke with family in the afternoon,” said Ndamase.

On the other hand Duma said her highlight was Kamo Mphela's performance. “Watching Kamo was my highlight for the night, simply because my daughter loves her so much. She is such an exceptional and incredible performer.”

Marawa, who is known to be affiliated with the brand through the Coca-Cola Cup and Coca-Cola Awards, said that his fondest memory was when he did the trophy tour before the 2010 World Cup when it arrived at Lanseria airport.

“For me out of everything this brought us closer to the dream of hosting the World Cup in South Africa,” he said.
