Sandton City launched a fun district comprising food stores, entertainment and other retail outlets specifically for children but where adults would also be comfortable.
Hundreds of parents and children attended. The day started with a tour of the area located at the lower levels of the mall, where the new kids' cinema, toy and entertainment stores were revealed.
DJ Arch, who turns six this year, was on the decks along with his sidekick, seven-year-old BK, socking it to them in the latest dance craze.
The other children were inspired to dance along to his playlist of rather sophisticated songs.
The kids were asked to come dressed up as their favourite Disney character and the two best-dressed children selected by the audience each received R4000 worth of gifts.
Local celebrities also showed face, accompanied by their children.
Musician Da Les aka the North God was spotted with his little one, alongside others such as Danny K, Mampho Brescia, new mummy Tamara Dey looking so graceful and happy with her little one, and Anele Mdoda, among others.
