After years of questions brewing of muso Ishmael Morabe’s whereabouts, the singer has finally dropped his new single.

The single dropped earlier last month, titled Gimme Gimme Gimme, features Makizar and Fiesta Black and according to the 47 year old, is about receiving goodness in all ways.

The Sunday Independent caught up with the star to find out where his head space is and what else he is working on.

TSI: How does it feel to be back on the scene and releasing actual music?

IM: It feels like my first time again. It is so exciting and I am overwhelmed by the responses that i am receiving.

TSI: How have people been reacting to your comeback thus far?

IM: The thing that makes me nervous, in a good way obviously, is how I have been receiving a lot of good vibes. People have been receiving the track positively and that reminds me of how amazing being here (in the industry) is. The funny thing is that the common reaction I am getting is of people who have been following my career and are excited about my comeback. It just humbles me.

TSI: How did the song come into existence?

IM: I was in Melville one day and a friend of mine, Makizar, called me up into studio to lay down the track. I immediately jumped onto it and that is how it came about. I wrote all of my parts of the song, while the others did their parts.

TSI: What more can the fans expect from Ishmael?

IM: More music. I am looking to do more and more tracks and ultimately coming up with an album. At the moment we are already talking about a second single. So there is a lot more to look out for from me.
