Idols SA winner Paxton Fielies’s new album This is Me was released to a few listeners at the Gallo Record Company Theatre last week.

The singing show’s season 13 winner released the much- anticipated debut album with a new hit single titled Angifuni.

This is a fresh and hot commercial album for the pop princess, and features the likes of Kyle Deutsch, Craig Lucas and Tresor.

Guests enjoyed the 14-track album over some drinks and nibbles, with the young songstress sharing her experience of working on the album.

“I wanted my music to speak for itself. This is my introduction into the industry, and I wanted you guys to understand me without the lights and everything. When you listen to the songs, I want you guys to experience the emotions I went through when I was in the booth recording,” she said.

Songs to look out for include Battleground featuring winner of The Voice SA Craig Lucas, and Innocent, which truly resonates to her.

Angifuni is young, upbeat, full of attitude and fun. The west African-inspired beat and catchy lyrical content confirms the song’s ability to become the next pop anthem. The crossover hit is already enjoying airplay across the country’s radio stations.

The album also includes her Idols hit single Demonstrate.

“I am so excited to be releasing my first single from my debut album. I hope everyone will enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed creating it.”

One track that adds a surprise element because of its sass and fierecenes is Who You Calling Pax? which she says is a song dedicated to those who didn’t believe in her. Proof of her hard work can be seen in the multiple performances since her win across and beyond the borders of Africa, including performances in Sweden.

Paxton will celebrate the album release with a meet-and-greet session with her home-town supporters this month.

The album is available on all major digital platforms.
