Johannesburg - Brooklyn Gin brings the juice to Regular Sundays along with hosts Under Bar in Craighall, north of Johannesburg.

On November 27, the gin brand and its partners will also be with mural artist, painter and printmaker Thokozani Madonsela, famous for his work featuring iconic nude, faceless, often laughing figures.

“This has been a bold statement he’s used to depicting neutrality in human identity,” read a statement by Regular Sundays.

Madonsela has participated in several group exhibitions, such as the SA Taxi Foundation Art Awards and the Absa L’Atelier, to name a few. He has also been involved in special projects as well as the commissions “An ode to brave souls”.

“At the fitting space of Under Bar, guests will also have the opportunity to view some of his pieces that will be in the space for a month, complemented by his unique Brooklyn Gin mix. Beyond the conversation hosted by Lebo Mashigo, guests will also be entertained by the sounds of Castro Magagula, who has previously played at popular events such as Obrigado and Beats By Her,” added the statement.

Regular Sundays along with Brooklyn Gin promises a memorable and insightful day which will not only feature art, but will also provide an experience which shares good food, drinks and great conversations, which the pair say will be perfect for rounding off your week and giving you a little bit of creative inspiration for the week ahead.

Collaborative partner Brooklyn Gin owes its origins to Brooklyn, New York, and sees South Africa, and Johannesburg specifically, as one of the cultural melting pots of the continent, hence the partnership with Regular Sundays and creating the #BeyondBrooklyn campaign.

This is the fourth instalment of this year’s Regular Sundays, and to close off the year in December guests can still expect to hear from Nene Mahlangu.
