Following Mampintsha’s sudden untimely death, his sister Pinky Gumede has come out to plead for donations after their mother suffered a stroke.
Mampintsha’s mother, Zamanguni Gumede, is currently hospitalised in a public hospital after her health deteriorated following the death of her son.
Speaking to ZiMoja, Mampintsha’s sister Pinky Gumede revealed that their mother hasn’t been well ever since her husband passed away in 2016.
“Ever since her husband died in 2016, she hasn’t been okay. She had liver complications, but she is now worse. When Mandla died, she wasn’t even drinking alcohol anymore,” said Pinky.
Pinky revealed that their mother is struggling to come to terms with the death of Mampintsha.
She said that since Mampintsha’s death, her health has become worse. She is reportedly unable to speak and walk.
“She is not taking Mandla’s death well. She started feeling ill before him but got worse when he was first admitted to the hospital. When she heard the news of his death, she became even more ill,” she added.
Pinky said that their mother had a stroke, just like Mampintsha, and her liver is also said to have been affected. She revealed that at the funeral and memorial service, they had to assist her.
“We had to help her to walk. But now she is worse. The doctor says her liver has been affected, and she also has been diagnosed with a stroke.
“But her stroke is not bad. She will not be disabled if she takes her medication. She has not been able to eat properly, and that is affecting how she takes her medication.”
Mampintsha’s sister has implored members of the public to assist her financially as she wants to move her to a private hospital.
Pinky revealed that her mother needs a private hospital and a psychologist to help her deal with the death of Mampintsha.
“I don’t have money to do that. I am appealing to the public to assist me so I can get her the best treatment,” she concluded.
