South African R&B singer and songwriter Chad Saaiman has released his latest track “2007” which is a hallmark year for him.

The Cape Town singer says “2007” pays homage to his first single, “Moving On” which was released 15 years ago when his music career began.

“It’s a moment of nostalgia. Those were the good days filled with great times, venues and experiences,” he said.

“I wanted to write a song that showed love to that era and some of the industry players involved.

The new single was produced by Cape Town music producer Shane Jacobs also known as Shaney Jay.

Jacobs said it was a great experience working with Saaiman.

“He is an artist who understands his sound and knows exactly where he wants to take the track,” he said.

He continued: “It was a first for me having to work on an R&B track, so I am grateful to Chad for trusting me with this record.”

Saaiman has released three albums, one extended project and several chart-topping singles such as “Play” featuring YoungstaCPT and “No Feelings” featuring Kerwin.

The SAMA nominated artist said after 15 years in the music industry, he feels fulfilled.

“When I started music, my main goal was longevity. Time goes by so quickly, and I’m happy that I’ve been able to release music and have a career for this amount of time,” he said.

“I’ve always worked on building a reputable and consistent brand. I am grateful to everyone who played a role in helping me achieve this,” he added.

From Sundays to Thursdays, Saaiman hosts “Saaiman Says” on Good Hope FM where he showcases new artists and their songs.

In future, he hopes to focus on all elements that form part of his entertainment career.

“This includes my music and solo career, performances with The Black Ties, my radio show, mentorship, and my business Stereotype Talent Management,” he said.

“I am hoping to drop a body of work in 2023.”
