SsangYong will unveil a compact car concept at the Paris auto show on October 2 called the C200 (can they get any closer to Mercedes?) as an urban compact SUV.

It will also be the first SsangYong to have front-wheel drive and a monocoque construction - others have a separate body/chassis construction. It's a milestone in SsangYong's mid- and long-term strategy to strengthen its line-up and increase customer choice.

The C200 uses a new six-speed manual transmission and a new 130kW two-litre diesel engine and, although the platform can accommodate front-wheel drive, the C200 has full-time all-wheel drive.

The C200 will be introduced by SsangYong Motor CEO and president Hyung-tak Choi.
