Durban - A bakkie that was stolen in Durban was found nearly 383 Km's away in Utrecht in KwaZulu-Natal. 

On Sunday, the Vryheid Task Team and K9 Unit followed up on intelligence reports that a stolen Hyundai H100 bakkie was spotted near Utrecht. 

Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane, a KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson, said according to information received by police the vehicle which was stolen in Durban was proceeding in their direction. 

"A vehicle fitting the same description was spotted at Utrecht and was intercepted by police officers. Police arrested five men who were found in the vehicle. Investigations revealed that the vehicle was stolen from its owner in Durban,"Zwane said. 

All five men, aged from 21 to 36, were arrested and charged for theft of motor vehicle. 

They will appear in the Utrecht Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
