Durban – Checkers Odd Bins range of wines won 11 awards at the 2021 Michelangelo International Wine and Spirits Awards.
Checkers and Shoprite spokesperson Patti Quinton said that the awards included two double gold, eight gold and one silver.
“The Odd Bins collection consists of limited edition vintages from local wine estates. Carefully selected and given a unique bin number, the original label is kept secret to ensure the wine remains both affordable and accessible,” said Quinton.
Quinton said the Odd Bin wine was unique and once the bin was sold out, it was not repeated as they wanted customers to try something new.
“These award-winning wines are available in limited quantities, so consumers are encouraged to stock up when they come across these favourites,” she said.
