DURBAN - Whatever spin Julius Malema tries to put on the outcome of the elections, his party has flopped at the polls.

After all his vociferous promises and threats the EFF could only muster a paltry 10% in the national count. It is about time that he realised that the vast majority of South Africans are not interested in his dictatorial and racist ideologies.

Malema needs to go home and lick his wounds and rethink any future strategies he may harbour. Violent protests by his unruly supporters have turned the tide against him and his party and they are no longer a threat to either the ANC or the DA.

Malema may claim that he has almost doubled his vote from 2014, but if that is the case, so has his nemeses, the FF+.

The public can now breathe a huge sigh of relief knowing that the EFF is not even the official opposition in Parliament, let alone the incoming government as Malema promised his followers.
