Vastly experienced chef Mokgadi Itsweng was in town on Saturday to tickle the taste buds of locals with her delicious recipes at the Market@TheSheds street food festival.

Under the banner #CreateAStir, the festival attracted chefs who keenly demonstrated their passion and knowledge of food.

“Chef Mokgadi”, as she is affectionately known, showcased how to #CreateAStir with her versatility in the food stakes.

She said people at the festival fell in love with her recipe. “Besides the fact that it is free, the food is really good. We are in a market situation and there is so much going on in terms of food,” she said.

The idea behind the festival was to create things that people would appreciate, she said.

“Earlier on we were serving potato cakes with avocado and bacon.

The response has been good,” Chef Mokgadi said.

She has been in the industry for more than 15 years and is a former magazine food editor.

“I am very much active in the food space,” she said.
