It’s almost Spring and one of Pretoria’s oldest and most-loved markets, is back after a two-year break.

Pretoria High School for Girls (PHSG) in Pretoria will be hosting their 101st Spring Fair on September 3. Thousands of visitors are expected to attend the fair that offers an array of fun activities and stalls to satisfy the family. It will feature a fine craft market, food stalls offering delicious global treats, a clothing booth, live entertainment, an auction, carnival rides, and the ever-popular book fair.

“The Spring Fair has become an institution that brings the community together for a day of fun, culture, entertainment and lots of festivities,” said David Mokati, chairperson of the PHSG Parents’ Association (PA).

“Organised by the parents of the school, the Spring Fair also serves as a fundraising event to generate funds for the girls attending PHSG, which are utilised for a variety of academic, cultural, art and sporting endeavours,” Mokati said.

Visitors include learners from the school, Old Girls, their friends, families and extended families, parents, teachers, management and support staff, and guests from surrounding schools and members of the larger Pretoria community.

“We are so excited about this year’s Spring Fair, as we couldn’t host the event for the past couple of years. We are counting down the days and look forward to welcoming the local community to our school and having them join in our festivities,” said Kerry-Lea du Toit, PR and Marketing Manager of PHSG.

Mokati said the school was grateful that some corporate and private sponsors had already joined forces with the PHSG Parents’ Association to bring this event to life.

The event will be cashless and run from 8am to 2pm on Saturday,

September 3. Ticket prices are R20 per person, children under five free.
