Johannesburg - This week we feature South African model, actor, entrepreneur and author Thaamir Moerat.

Thaamir hosts the lifestyle show “Prime Culture” in South Africa on DStv 345 and is the global 1-minute film festival owner.

He has in the past featured in local movies such as “Razor’s Edge” and “Life Happened”.

It was announced recently that the media personality will soon star in a German reality TV show called “Wo die Liebe Hinfällt” (“Where Love Falls”) which will air on the popular VOX channel in Europe.

The show centres on couples whose love is unusual being exposed to society’s gaze every day and how they deal with criticism and opposition.

Your favourite item of clothing in your closet currently is...?

My two Versace blazers my fashion buyer mother Shireen Moerat bought me about 12 years ago. They’e still of top quality and never go out of fashion.

If you were able to go back in time and give your 10-year-old self some advice, what would it be?

Choose your partners wisely. In life and business.

Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook? Which is your favourite?

I used to be big on Twitter but it faded when I started using Instagram. I've never really been a Facebook fan but use it now and then. Instagram seems easier.

The biggest misconception people have of you is...?

I’m actually just having a laugh most of the time and I don’t take myself too seriously. I also have a very soft heart and even though I was featured in “GQ” for the top most stylish men on Instagram last year, I don't dress up often unless it’s part of the job. I’m just a Boland boy by nature.

You are able to feature in any reality TV show in the world. Which do you feature in and why?

Mmm ... I would love to do “Survivor”! Show my survival skills, lol.

The meal that most reminds you of your childhood is...?

Chicken spaghetti the way my grandma used to make it.

You are able to invite three people for dinner at your home. Who do you choose to invite and why?

Rumi. His teachings had a huge influence on who I am today and my beliefs.

Nelson Mandela. Even though I was invited to his house in my Mr South Africa year in 2000, I was too young to appreciate it. I would like to revisit that moment.

Johnny Depp. Always been my go-to guy as an actor. Would love to just be in his company.

The secret to success in your opinion is...?

I know it’s a cliché, but always do the next best thing. In any situation or obstacle in life or business ask yourself, what is the next best thing and do that.

Your celebrity crush growing up was...?

Sandra Bullock.

How would you like to be remembered...?

As a loving father. I don’t really care about others’ opinions about me. I want my children and future grandchildren to remember me as a loving father and grandfather.
