Bollywood- The intentions of this film are clear from the outset - it’s a promotional film for debutant lead star Ayush Sharma.

Everything else adjusts itself within all cinema liberties to help the film achieve this ambition.

Sushrut’s (Sharma) primary goal in life is to teach garba (traditional dance form) to children in Vadodara.

This year, the nine-day Hindu Navaratri festival changes his life.

He falls madly in love with Michelle (Warina Hussain) and has to do everything possible to pursue her.

Looking beyond the overwhelming grandiose backdrop of Gujarat (depicted in glorious visuals) and Navaratri adding to a structured timeline of events, there is nothing deep or meaningful about the film.

Its screenplay is one-dimensional, allowing for nothing inventive to come into focus - not even the numerous song sequences which, after a while, become exhausting on the viewer’s patience.

It’s a catchy musical score which does deserve a mention for its authentic Indianness and that certainly adds the required sensationalism to the film’s celebratory ambience.

The newcomers, Sharma and Hussain, are filled with passion for cinema.

This is easily noticed in their body language and chemistry shared on screen.

While it works for the low requisite of the film’s script - it doesn’t create longevity for either actor in the industry unless of course assisted by their film “connections”.

Ram Kapoor and Ronit Roy bring a sense of seasoned acting talent to the cast with stereotypical “senior” roles. Kapoor is particularly enjoyable on screen with a strong presence amid the impotent creative surroundings.

If you are keen on visually entrancing movies without sensibility that adheres religiously to Bollywood’s musical format, then this will surely entertain.
