Durban - FESTIVITIES are well underway at the Durban Diwali Festival at the old Durban Drive-in as patrons make the most of shopping, food and entertainment on offer.

As we head into the evening foot traffic has gradually increased through the day. Many festival goers are excited about the immaculate fireworks display at 8pm and song and dance entertainment on offer through the night, including Bangra Night.

And if you prefer a more lazy evening the Night Market amd Fair Rides offer fun family activities. With Chinese like Indian and Chinese on the menu, there's a taste to suit every palate so far as food goes, with some live cooking demos in between.

2018 marks the South African Hindu Maha Sabha’s 20th year in hosting the Durban Diwali Festival. The event has developed beyond song and dance, with weekend festivities centred on community upliftment, spiritual and cultural awareness.

The event continues through this evening. It wraps up on Sunday.
