Durban - Tractors made in India, were presented to King Goodwill Zwelithini, as a gift by General V. K. Singh, Minister of State for External Affairs from the Government of India today.

The gift presented by Singh, is symbolic of mutual respect and goodwill that exists between the Indian and Zulu people.

The ceremony held at India House, in Durban, was part of the minister's official visit to the city.

The minister's trip also coincides with the 8th IBSA Trilateral Ministerial Commission.

He is scheduled to participate at the 17th meeting of the council of ministers of the Indian Ocean Rim Association on Wednesday.

General Singh’s is expected to attend an array of events.

Singh is scheduled to visit the Ramakrishna Abalindi Old Age Home, at Inanda, to inaugurate kitchen and dining room facilities sponsored by the Government of India.

He will also visit the Phoenix Settlement, where he will inaugurate the Mahatma Gandhi Centre for Information Technology, financed and set up by the Government of India.

Finally, the Minister will inaugurate "Gandhi in Durban", an exhibition which depicts the life of the Mahatma in Durban at the Local History Museum in the city.

Since his arrival yesterday, the minister had attended a reception held at the Consulate General of India, Durban.
