Durban - A worker is fighting for his life after he was struck with a brick by another worker during a fight at a construction site.
Midlands EMS spokesperson Roland Roberston said that their advanced life support Howick ambulances were dispatched to Merrivale just after 1.45pm on Tuesday.
“Upon arrival, it was found that one patient had sustained critical injuries and was placed on a ventilator by Midlands EMS advanced life support paramedics,” Robertson said.
“It is alleged that a fight broke out between two employees, and one was hit with a brick in the head.”
Robertson said that the patient was treated on scene before being rushed to a nearby hospital for further care.
He added that the exact cause of the incident was under investigation by local authorities.
Police had not responded by the time of publication.
