Durban - The body of an unidentified man was found wrapped in black plastic bags and dumped near the Lotus Park Cemetery, in Isipingo on Thursday. 

Private security company PT Alarms said they received a call from the ladies against crime neighbourhood watch group saying a passerby returning home from work had stumbled onto something near the cemetery that could be containing a human body. 

Captain Nqobile Gwala a KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson, said they received a report at 3 pm that the body of an unknown man was found without clothes on Silver Gull Drive in Lotus Park. 

"He sustained visible injuries to the body. The circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated. A case of murder is being investigated by Isipingo SAPS," Gwala said.

Isipingo Community Policing Forum chairperson Aidan David appealed to the community to come forward with information to help solve the case. 

Police have not yet identified the man.
