Durban — Two men are fighting for their lives after one of them was injured during a wall collapse and the other was injured when he fell out of an apartment in Durban.

In the first incident, a construction worker was injured on Saturday afternoon following a structural collapse in Durban North.

Emer-G-Med spokesperson Kyle van Reenen said that their paramedics responded to the scene of a structural collapse on a construction site on Mackeurtan Avenue.

“Reports from the scene are that a male worker was busy on a ladder when a wall collapsed, crushing his leg between the wall and the ladder,” Van Reenen said.

He said that advanced life support intervention was needed to stabilise him before he was rushed to a nearby hospital for further definitive care.

He said that advanced life support intervention was needed to stabilise him before he was taken to a nearby hospital for further care.

Van Reenen added that facts surrounding the incident and the events preceding it are unclear and will form the subject of a police investigation.
