Durban - 'A true South African Hero, a man with a wonderful and kind heart and angel dressed in blue.'

These are the words that people have used to describe the Blue Security armed response officer who pulled a motorist from a vehicle that had rolled over in Isipingo.

The entire rescue was captured on dash cam and shared on the security company’s Facebook page where the officer, CPO Sabatha Ngubane, was applauded for his actions.

In the video, a vehicle is seen overturned on its side at a set of robots and the armed response officer in a bulletproof vest pulls himself up to reach the door of the vehicle.

As soon as the officer stands on the door, the driver’s hand pops out of the window reaching for the officer.

The officer then locks his hand into the driver's hand in a bid to pull him up and out.

Ngubane then seats the driver on the car door as he jumps onto the road where he helps the driver down.

In her reply to the video Annette Thompson said Ngubane was a true hero.

"I wish we had more guys with your heart and dedication - thank you,” she wrote

While Anne Missenden Gerber described Ngubane as a wonderful kind heart.

Dawn Natalie Penn also applauded Ngubane and wrote that he was a hero.

“A hero and an angel dressed in blue. Keep safe,” she said.

Blue security said the rescue happened in the early hours of Wednesday morning following an accident in Prospecton.

“Patrolling the dark streets of Durban, our vigilant response officer spotted a vehicle overturned and noticed that the motorist was still trapped inside. After careful inspection, our hero didn't hesitate to climb onto the vehicle and pull the motorist up and out, before helping him to a safe landing with the assistance of another officer. The moments where reaction staff selflessly go beyond what's expected of them aren't always captured, so we'd like to take this opportunity to honour CPO Ngubane for living the code of the Blue badge” the company wrote.
