Nyawose was killed in the February incident and the assailants, in making a get-away, hijacked and shot and killed a 33-year-old motorist.

It is alleged that after Nyawose was shot the shooters were spotted driving recklessly by Umkomaas members on patrol, and after a chase ensued the suspect's vehicle is alleged to have crashed into a truck.

It was at this point that the suspects robbed and fatally shot the 33-year-old motorist before speeding off from the crime scene in the victim's vehicle.
