Durban - Ballet lovers will get a special Christmas gift this year – the classic Christmas tale, The Nutcracker, will screen at Cinema Nouveau Gateway from December 23.
The Bolshoi Ballet performance was recorded live in Moscow, and features Denis Rodkin as the heroic Nutcracker, and Anna Nikulina as Marie.
As the clock strikes midnight on Christmas Eve, Marie’s wooden nutcracker doll comes to life and transforms into a prince. Soon joined by her other toys that have also come to life, Marie and her prince embark on a dreamy, unforgettable adventure.
A holiday tradition for the whole family, the enchantment and magic of The Nutcracker sweeps the Bolshoi stage, along with Tchaikovsky’s score.
Bookings are now open for the two-hour-and-15-minutes show, with an interval of 15 minutes.
