Durban - CraftFest boasts a special kids area, making it an event the family can enjoy.

From jumping castles, a climbing wall, a disco dome, seat rockets and two different types of slides, there’s plenty for children to enjoy.

Electric go-carts also feature in the Rainbow Zone as does a merry-go-round.

Stalls specialising in sand art, candle-dipping and henna and face-painting also feature, while the budding builders among us can have fun in the Lego and Duplo zone.

A range of exciting kid-friendly food options will have the young ones in their element. From slush puppies to koeksisters, cupcakes to sweets and nougat and honeycomb, from waffle cones to pancakes, there will be treats for everyone.

One of the highlights promises to be a stand by Momenti Artisan Gelato, a local artisan ice-cream maker, dedicated to creating authentic flavours free of any gelatine, flavourants, colourants or preservatives.

And these real ice-creams are brought to you by Edward PapaPhotis who studied at a Gelato university in Bologna.

Based in Durban’s Station Drive, he creates real ice-creams from scratch with the best

ingredients. So think unusual combinations such as golden tumeric gelato or dark roast espresso gelato or crème brulee gelato. Now those are guaranteed to be a hit for all members of the family from 2 to 80 and older.
