Durban - Fans of Calum Scott are in for a treat as the platinum-selling UK singer performs in Durban in his Only Human South African tour tomorrow. The star added Durban to his SA tour after fans signed an online petition to bring Scott to the city.
In an exclusive interview with The Independent on Saturday, Scott said: “It was all about the fans. I feel incredibly lucky to know that there are so many people in Durban, a city and country I have never been to before, are supporting me and my music from so many miles away with the hope to see me perform live. I would do anything for my fans, so the decision to add Durban to my tour was easy.”
This will be Scott’s first trip to South Africa. Speaking on this, he said: “Every time I think about it, I start smiling. I have friends that have visited the country before who cannot speak any more highly of it and they say I am going to love it. My South African fans have been so patient for me to finally perform for them and I can’t wait. I wish I had more time in my schedule because I would love to be a tourist with my camera around my neck and a huge bottle of sunscreen.”
In terms of the concert tomorrow, the singer said South African fans are in for a great show: "I will make you dance a little and probably cry a lot. I'll tell you my stories. I will sing with everything I have and hopefully make it a night to remember."
Scott’s concert takes place tomorrow, November 9 at the Durban Botanic Gardens from 4pm. Tickets are available through sheer.nutickets.co.zaThe Independent on Saturday
