Johannesburg - This week, we feature rapper, voice-over artist, pianist, and clarinettist, XXC Legacy.
The rapper, whose real name is Thandiswa Mthethwa, recently released her very first EP titled “End of Days.
The 23-year-old collaborated with some of music’s hottest names, including Moozlie, BigStar Johnson, Stilo Magolide, Jay Jody, and more, on her album.
Mthethwa first hit stages at the tender age of just seven years with her rendition of Shakira’s “Hips don’t lie” at an open mic session hosted by Pabi Moloi.
She completed her studies at the National School of the Arts, where she studied music theory and honed her skills with the piano and clarinet.
After working for a few years as an independent artist, she finally signed a record deal with cutting-edge label Paradise Sound System in 2020.

For me, it is definitely A-Reece. He just does it for me.
You are able to collaborate with any South African rapper on a track. Who do you choose to collaborate with?
A-Reece. His pen game is always on point and Cassper Nyovest, reason being is any song he makes is an automatic hit.
Your favourite item of clothing in your closet is...?
Definitely the Zebra print with my face. OMG, it’s my favourite item.
What is one thing most people don't know about you?
I enjoy cooking, and I am really OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder).
You are able to spend a day with any celebrity in the world, learning their trade. Who do you choose to spend the day with?
Internationally, I would spend it with Doja Cat. I feel like there is a lot of similarities between us. Locally, DJ Maporisa. He knows the ins and outs of the industry.
A wild night of partying or Netflix and chill?
Definitely a wild night of partying. I have been indoors for two years now, so it’s about time I start having fun.
You are tasked with coming up with the XXC Legacy cocktail. What goes into the cocktail?
Elder flower syrup
