Cosy pic reignites Babes Wodumo and Brilliant Khuzwayo rumours

DURBAN - A picture of gqom sensation Babes Wodumo and former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo holding hands, has reignited rumours the pair could be dating.

The picture of the two holding hands and smiling, surfaced on social media on Thursday.

Babes Wodumo, whose real name is Bongekile Simelane, revealed last month on a radio station that she had parted with her partner, Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo. This after it was claimed, Mampintsha had been physically abusive. Mampintsha has denied the claims.

Babes told Metro FM’s The Drive that she was now in a relationship with a new man, but would not reveal his identity.

Babes Wodumo and Brilliant Khuzwayo in a picture that "leaked" on social media.

On that occasion, Khuzwayo’s name emerged during the interview, as Babes had tweeted a picture of him wishing him well in the future after he played his last match for Kaizer Chiefs.

On Thursday, Khuzwayo took to Instagram to dismiss the rumours and told fans he and Babes were “just friends” and “so what” if friends hold hands.

“Hey guys there's a photo of me and @babes_wodumo going around on social I would just like to set the record straight that we are not dating we just friends, I think we should stop twisting things around, so what if we were holding hands so now I can't hold my friends hand come on guys let's grow with the time,” wrote Khuzwayo on Instagram.

Khuzwayo is reportedly engaged. Babes told Isolezwe last month that she was not in a relationship with Khuzwayo and said she knew that he was engaged to someone else. Despite this, the isiZulu newspaper reported that the two had arrived at a music festival together.

"Does it mean that every man that I'm spotted with is my man? I also have a bodyguard named Sthe, people will say that I'm dating him," Babes reportedly told the newspaper.

Khuzwayo is currently looking for a new team after leaving Kaizer Chiefs last month. Reports indicate that champions Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates are interested in Itumeleng Khune’s former number two at Naturena.
