DURBAN - ROBBIE Malinga Jnr has been nominated as the Drama Queen of the Year by the Feather Awards. Malinga Jnr famously took over his father’s Instagram account and showed off his penchant for expensive clothes and million rand cars.
His father, an acclaimed music producer, songwriter and vocalist, died on Christmas last year.
Malinga Jnr is nominated in the Drama Queen of the Year category along with the Supa Mega, rapper AKA, and author of the book Bare: The Blesser's Game, Jackie Phamotse.
AKA was nominated for his revelation that he found stones wrapped in packets in his bedroom, a revelation he made when he separated with his ex-partner Bonang Matheba.
Phamotse has been no stranger to the limelight since she released her book and was also slapped with a harrassment order after businesswoman Basetsana Kumalo approached the courts in July this year. The Saturday Star reported at the time that claims she had made were fabricated, as she tweeted she had caught sight of a video where a female TV mogul had begged one of her friends not to share a video of a drunk husband in a sexual encounter with a younger male celebrity.
Musicians Sjava, Faka and Nakhana Toure were nominated as the Musician of the Year in the 10th edition of the awards. The event will take place on November 25 and a venue has yet to be announced.
